In the event of a pandemic, man-made, or natural disaster, the health department has prepared and documented procedures, drills, lists of volunteers, and memorandums of understanding with other agencies in the county to help provide the citizens of Morgan County with the essentials for getting medical attention and disaster relief.

The Morgan County Health Department is part of a nine-county regional "threat preparedness" district known as the Eastern Public Health Response Team (EPHRT). We partner with Jefferson, Berkeley, Hampshire, Mineral, Grant, Hardy, Pocahontas, and Pendleton counties.  In the event of an epidemic, pandemic, natural or man-made disaster, this team will cooperate together to provide the citizens of the region with the best possible health protection and emergency response.  The team is currently in the fourth year of planning, preparing, and conducting drills.  Threat preparedness funding is provided from the Department of Homeland Security's federal grant program.
